We believe art works on both individual and community levels. We ALL benefit when art education along with creativity and imagination are seen as essential community needs and values.

You are the key to our continued work and we are grateful for your support of our efforts.

We would like to introduce you the concept and theme of this year's Chef's Dinner, Kintsugi. As the ancient Japanese art of repairing broken pottery, fragments are mended back into place with lacquer dusted with powdered gold, leaving the repair visible. Rather than hiding imperfections, this practice embraces them, celebrates them, and giving a new lease of life to the ceramic.

"Ceramics are fragile, strong and beautiful all at once, just like people. Ceramics and life can break apart into a thousand pieces, but not for that reason should we stop living intensely." - Tomás Navarro

We invite you for an intimate, elegant evening of delicious food at the private residence of Ruth Gresser and Barbara Johnson. Renowned women chefs including celebrity chef and cookbook author Carla Hall, Amy Brandwein of Centrolina, Fiona Lewis of The District Fishwife, Johanna Hellrigl of Doi Moi, and Michelle Poteaux of Bastille will create a special five course meal exclusive to this event. Join us by sponsoring the 8th Annual Chef's Dinner on May 23rd, 2019.

Art Works Now breaks down economic barriers that have made access to arts education a challenge for too many. Your sponsorship of this event enables us to provide access to arts learning for hundreds of children and adults. Your giving is immediately transformed into tangible success stories and lifelong impact shared by members of our community.

Our mission can be narrowed into three distinct, but connected areas that set us apart from other organizations: quality arts curriculum and materials, access for all, and the importance of strong community relationships. Our core value of social justice is infused through these channels of impact. Our ultimate mission is to create a stronger community, and a better world, through the visual arts. During the event, we'll show you how your impact shapes our programs for everyone from toddlers to older adults. The entirety of all sponsorship funds directly support scholarships and outreach programs at Art Works Now.
